Welcome to the X-ray lab in The College of Wooster Geology Department!

The X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometer (XRF) and X-ray Diffractometer (XRD) used in our department was funded by the National Science Foundation to support Wooster’s robust undergraduate research program. In addition to providing our students with valuable hands-on analytical experience, we hope that the instruments will foster creative collaborations and interdisciplinary research. Click here to learn more about our lab.

If you are a Wooster student looking to conduct research in the lab, talk to your advisor or Dr. Meagen Pollock. Before using the facilities, you must complete the required training, which can also be done on this website. Additionally, the standard operating procedures for most of the labs processes can be found here.

You can also read updates about our research and lab on the Wooster Geologists blog!
